Abstract

One of the important elements of the novel that constitutes its main form is the element of plot. The plot consists of a structure consisting of start, expansion, suspension, climax, untying, and ending. Knowing this structure allows the reader to experience the story well and understand it through a specific time process. Contemporary novelists, given the experience they gained from the new world, They found that in writing the story, the sequence of the plot structure could be broken and disturbed. In such stories, due to the abandonment of accepted traditions of art and the creation of new narrative styles, the events of the story are intertwined and the boundary between beginning and end is not defined. It also sometimes happens that the characters of the story invite the reader to implicitly play a role in the ending of the story. In the present study, based on the descriptive-analytical method, an attempt is made to make a comparative study of nonlinear plot in the novel " Land of the Missing" by Elias Khoury and the novel "I am not a tiger" by Mohammad Reza Safdari. Given that in these two works, traces of modern and postmodern fiction can be seen

Abstract

Nonverbal communication as one of the branches of psychology extensive amounts of body work are included who call that body language. this language contains all the messages that are people with looks, facial expressions and gestures pass on to others. in addition, body language is widely used in everyday communication between individuals in literature, the reader understands and understands the text. in this study, it is attempting the body language in Days with him's novel (1960) of the Colette Khoury and the Drunkard Morning (2016) from Fattaneh Haj Seyed Javadi by relying on the descriptive-analytical method and a comparative approach. the results indicate that in both novels, the body language has almost the same function (12% in the Days with him and 10% in the Drunkard Morning). also, because concepts such as happiness, anger, fear and anxiety in non-verbal behaviors of female characters, there are two frequencies of frequency. these concepts are in the face of characters (67% in the Days with him and 55% in the Drunkard Morning) there is a lot of reflection. this is the amount of function of face tone that is usually this part of the body when communicating, more usable and visible.

Abstract

Although Quran’s text is obvious and comprehensible, but it has delicate meanings and it is written with an eloquent syntax and unique brevity. According to this description, one should try in Quran translation to transmit its clarity as well as its delicate meanings and syntactical  and rhetorical details. Tahereh Saffarzadeh has translated Quran in Persian by an obvious and understandable language, but in some cases, she has not conveyed the word’s significations and syntax of text with accuracy and brevity. Investigating Safarzadeh’s Persian translation of Quran and comparing it with Arabic lexicons and syntaxical structures, authors of present article has figured out that some parts of translation cannot reflect the Arabic text and is influenced by English translation of Quran. In order to meet the purpose, text of last for parts of Saffarzade translation has been compared with Quran and Abdullah Yosef Ali’s translation and the aspects by which saffarzade has been influenced, has been extracted and investigated. A more in depth analysis, the results show that in safarzade’s translation, changes such as ungrammaticality, linguistic adjuncts, change of implication, inappropriate equivalents and descriptive equivalents have been made under the influence of English translation.

Abstract

Laghatah, written by Abd al-Halim Abd Allah, and Probably I Am Lost, written by Sara Salar, are two examples of texts dealing with the status of women in a patriarchal society. The protagonists of Laghatah and Probably I Am Lost are named Leili and Ravi, respectively. Both novels’ protagonists are women limited by the society norms and their social role. Despite various turbulence, they experience an internal journey to achieve perfection. The present study investigated both novels comparatively based on Maureen Murdock’s theory using analytical-descriptive method. The paper aims to investigate the sequence of female heroes’ actions in Laghatah and Probably I Am Lost? Accordingly, the text structure of both novels as well as a set of their textual connections were evaluated and described through Murdock’s theory. The results showed that the sequence of Leili’s actions in Laghatah and Ravi’s in Probably I Am Lost follows a ten-stage model, including: passing from femininity, identification with men, tests pathimaginary success, being rejected as a powerful woman, falling in front of the goddess, femininity renewal, removing the gap between mother and daughter, finding the internal man, and reaching beyond duality.
