Abstract

In this paper, for control Voltage of two chamber Microbial fuel cell, two-type PI controller and MPC controller are used. For this purpose, two compartments of the model presented by Esfandyari  et al. [1, 2] have been used to model the microbial fuel cell. Then, based on this model, a classic PI controller based on the internal model and a MPC controller was designed and implemented. Based on the designed controllers, it was adjusted by adjusting the flow rate of the substrate to changes usually introduced in turbulence, such as the concentration of input to the substrate, or the effect of the uncertainty in the parameters of the process model, such as rmax and Ks. The results show that the MPC controller has a better performance compared to the classic PI controller.

Abstract

Tragedy and Ta'ziyeh are considered as classical dramatic forms that due to their roots in ritual and their dependence on religion, culture, myth and tone can be studied in a comparative manner. The aim of the present paper is to study the dramatic aspects and capacities of these two dramatic forms in comparison with each other.  To achieve this goal, different parameters such as narrative or representation, alike and character, performance style, verbal effects, catharsis and audience impact are compared. In this study, we seek answer to the following questions; how the dramatic capacities of tragedy can be preferred over the Ta'ziyeh or vice versa. It seems that in the light of a semiotic approach and one of its sub branches, the digital and analog semiotics of Louis-Jean Calvet, the extent of dramatic similarities and differences between these two forms can be better investigated. Another objective of this research is to challenge the existing comparative studies in the context of Ta'ziyeh and tragic or epic plays that seems to have ignored the performance style, the most important element of Ta'ziyeh and have assessed its values than other types.

Abstract

Objective: Cryptorchidism is the most common deficiency of the male reproductive system and most prevalent endocrine disease of boys at birth. Insufficient prenatal anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) secretion from Sertoli cells of the testis is one of its causes. The role of this hormone and inhibin B in fertility has recently been proven. AMH is a known indicator of Sertoli cell function. The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between anti-Müllerian hormone, inhibin B, testosterone, and semen parameters in post-pubertal cryptorchidism patients. Methods: We gathered the data of this cross-sectional study from blood and semen samples of 20 patients who had a history of unilateral cryptorchidism. Patients, 20-40 years of age, referred to the Urology Ward of Shariati Hospital, Tehran, Iran. Serum levels of AMH, inhibin B and testosterone were analyzed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Semen analysis was performed by means of a computer aided semen analysis system 6.5.0. Pearson’s correlation test was used to evaluate the relationships between variables. Result: Significant positive relationships were existed between total sperm motility and sperm concentration (r=0.086; p<0.01), total motility and fast progressive motility (r=0.97; p<0.01), sperm concentration and fast progressive motility (r=0.9; p<0.01), white blood cell count and sperm concentration (r=0.63; p<0.05), white blood cell count and sperm motility (r=0.66; p<0.05), white blood cell count and sperm fast progressive motility (r=0.77; p<0.01), and testosterone levels and serum AMH (r=0.6; p<0.01). Conclusion: Cryptorchidism patients in this study had lower serum concentrations of AMH, inhibin B and testosterone than the normal limits. Despite the positive correlation between serum testosterone and AMH, none of the investigated hormones showed any significant relationship with semen parameters.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the antioxidant properties of date seed methanolic extracts of Rabbi variety and evaluating the physicochemical properties of zein nanoparticles loaded with these extracts. Ultrasonic treatment was used to extract methanolic extract from date seed powder and antisolvent precipitation method was used to encapsulate date seed methanolic extracts in amounts of 0.05, 0.1, 0.15 and 0.2 g in zein biopolymer carrier. In this study, the total phenolic content (TPC) and half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) value of date seed extracts of Rabbi variety in 45 min, the temperature of 500C of ultrasonic bath and 70% methanol solvent concentration were obtained respectively 369.47 mg gallic acid equivalents (GAE)/g dry weight and 5.08 µg/m1. By increasing the ratio of encapsulated extract in zein carrier from 0.1 to 0.4, the encapsulation efficiency from 85.90 to 95.19% and the size of zein particles loaded with methanolic extracts from 129.95 to 183.30 nm increased and the zeta potential of nanoparticles decreased from +19.15 to +14.48 mV. The size and zeta potential of extract-free zein particles were determined 109.30 nm and +21.96 mV, respectively. The results of ATR-FTIR analysis indicated that with increase the ratio of methanolic extract encapsulated in the zein carrier, the stretching peak of O‒HO bond changed and increased from 3292.85 to 3294.85 cm-1. In Investigating the FE-SEM images, extract-free zein nanoparticles and zein nanoparticles loaded with date seed extracts had semi-spherical morphology. Overall, the hydrophobic nature of zein carrier caused it to bind with the phenolics of Rabbi date seed extract through non-covalent, van der Waals, hydrogen, and hydrophobic interactions. Therefore, it can be used as a strong carrier for the encapsulation of date seed extracts.
